Eligibility Guidelines for Free Cell Phone: Vary By State. In
general individuals qualify if they participate in a public assistance program
such as Food Stamps, Medicaid, Supplemental Security Income (SSI), Temporary
Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program
(LIHEAP), National Free School Lunch, Federal Housing/Section 8 Assistance, or
if they do not receive any of these public assistance programs, they may also

Is there a limit on text messages? Yes. Each text message counts as 1/3 of a minute. Every 3 messages will
deduct one voice minute from your account.
Can I use my own Cell Phone for this service? No. Upon approval into the program, Safelink wireless will send you a special
cell phone to be used with this service.
How Do I Recharge my
Minutes? Your Phone's minutes will be automatically recharged every
